Estonia - EUYA

Estonian UNESCO Youth Association is a non-profit organization, established on 15 January 2003 as a youth initiative group, and since 23 December 2003 EUYA works as an independent NGO with the headquarters in Tartu. Nevertheless, the activities of the organisation spread all over the country and involve youth from 15 to 30. The main niche on the country level EUYA holds in youth work for disadvantage youth and national minorities providing the information and possibilities in the language of young people.

EUYA activities whirl within six divisions:

  • EUYA Outbound: promotion and support of youth participation, international contacts making and developing, international projects (EVS, youth exchanges, seminars, trainings, etc.) development and management aiming to support youth mobility, promote opportunities to non-formal education and intercultural learning;
  • EUYA Training: management and implementation of short and long term projects aiming to support of training opportunities and possibilities of youth workers, leaders, EUYA staff and target groups in order to raise the quality of youth work and individual skills;
  • EUYA Events: management and implementation of local and international events aiming to support and strengthen EUYA and UNESCO priorities and developing of spiritual and cultural values;
  • EUYA Indigo: organising of youth leisure and facilities for activities for interests (mainly in Tartu and Tartumaa);
  • EUYA Consulting: consulting and advisory services to support youth initiatives and project based activities of third sector, sharing of the experience and best practices;

  • EUYA Editorial: editing and translation services aiming to develop typography skills and apply norms of correct editing, design and publishing of documents (both printed and virtual);

EUYA priorities and main objectives are concentrated around working in the field of developing  culture, education, science and communication as spreading the ideas of UNESCO among youth and grown-up population in different regions of Estonia and internationally.
