Czech Republic - LOS
LOS – Liberecká občanská společnost o.s. is a non-profit organization established in 2003. Its main objective is a personal and social development of young people on regional and international level through the informal education. It focuses mainly on issues of prejudice, acts of intolerance and opening new possibilities to be active.
What we do:
LOS initiates and implements youth exchanges, educational projects, organizes exhibitions and tries to promote and support active citizenship not only as a philosophy, but also as a way of life. LOS also organizes training courses, conferences, workshops whether a Living library. These activities are carried out in Liberec, Liberec region, Euroregion Neisse, but also in various parts of Europe in cooperation with foreign partners.
Our goal:
LOS is trying to revitalize Liberec and its surroundings, seeks to improve the quality of cultural, social and civil services by its activity. The organization aims to underline the importance of voluntary activities, exposing taboo topics and stereotypes against minority groups, and (not only) methodological support for youth workers. Finally, LOS aims to strengthen cooperation of NGOs operating in the Liberec Region. The effort is also a revival of Euroregion Neisse, remove barriers and borders which are still exists in the minds of citizens of the Euroregion; access to apparently distant locations and use the civil and cultural potential of the region.
